Depends on two things, one, the sound you want, and two, the way you want it two look. I Personally prefer Gibson because their second-rate guitars (Epiphone Brand) sound much more similar to the actual thing than the Squire brand does to the Fender. In short, with Gibson you are able to buy a high quality guitar for a low price.
