My boyfriend of 3 years, who currently lives out of state, is going to be moving to be closer to me. I currently live in an apartment which is in my name only. Are there any rules I would be violating by letting him move in with me in my apartment? He wouldn't be able to afford moving here otherwise. Should I contact the apartment managers to ask so he can sign onto the lease? I'm afraid they will say he can't but the wheels are already in motion for him to move here and he would probably have to now even if they say no. I'm not sure what the rules are regarding this or what normal procedures would be.

My lease isn't up for 5 months. I live in TN.

You have to read what your rental agreement says about having other people in your apartment. He doesnt necassarily have to go on the lease but normally you have to inform the landlord or you may be in violation of your lease.

Dont let him move in! The sex is always if you each have your own apartments.

If you do let him move in, just call your rental agent & let hem know

Just let him move in. If they get pissed, you're gone in 5 months.

just have him put on the lease....or even better, don't say anything at all. If anyone asks, he is just staying with you for awhile...

MAKE HIM LIABLE FOR THE APARTMENT TOO. hE SHOULD ALSO COUGH UP HALF OF YOUR DEPOSIT. THAT WAY WHEN HE GETS DRUNK AND OUT OF CONTROL, HE WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE HOLES HE PUNCHES IN THE WALLS.

MY ADVICE TO YOU IS TO SPEAK TO THE LANDLORD, FROM MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE DON'T EVER LET A MAN LIVE WITH YOU IF HE IS NOT GOING TO TAKE SOME RESPONSIBILITY.
