Do girls watch football to enjoy the game or to see their "cute and sexy" players?

Most girls can be heard saying these sort of things whenever they talk about football : "Kaka is so cute" "Beckam is so sexy" "Does Ballack or "X" have a girl friend?" So do they watch football for these stupid and silly reasons ? These sorts of comments from girls remind me of why some people say " Girls are girls.....They are just dumb and stupid?" Any thoughts ?

and I bet if Ronaldiniho wasnt a super star, girls would never think that he is attractive. I am really disappointed to see these replies. Just prove that Girls are dumb and stupid after all. They jus fall for the outside beauty not for what a player does!!!!! really pissed !!

Exactly! that is what made me mad when answering on world cup questions. but now em used to it. its even now just funny.I used to answer those kind of questions rudely. but now I answer the way they want it answered. u kind of left to understand their mentality and proceed. but not all chicks act that way.only a small percentage have an idea of what soccer is all about. some of them need to understand that soccer fields are not modelling grounds. Girls u really piss off all guys! grow up!

Well, I love the game of soccer, now the rules and history and have watched games since I was little. So why can't I enjoy watching this game and a group of the most handsome men out there at the same time? It is just lucky for us girls that really get into soccer to have the best of both worlds. And it's not like all of them are cute?

I am wondering if you have a girl-friend and she has a crush on a soccer player? Maybe that's where your frustration comes in?

When you write that "this comment is not for girls who watch football because they love the game itself" and then get replies from the girls who dont, you shouldn't say that all girls are like that. Anyway, lots of things make guys 'cute and sexy', especially skill. Girls just talk about it more than guys. come on, would you rather see a guy who is in really good shape and therefore able to perform at the highest level or one who looks gross and doesn't add anything good to the BEAUTIFUL game?

that's a good question dude... i'm a girl.. and i can tell you that i love football just like any normal guy ( not gay huh ;) ). of course there are chiks who only watch the games to drool over cute players.. but you can't say all girls are watching footie for the same reason.. even when they do watch the games for the sake of good looking players.. most girls can't stay two or three hours in a row to see beckham's butt or kaka's cute face...
here's a tip : if you know a girl who's watching a football game.. just obseve if she waits to see the before and after match discussions on tv.. if she does, then she is really interested in the game itself, not in the handsome players.

I'd say about 99% of girls only look football to watch the "cute" players.. They are really stupid. And dumb. Why do you think Real Madrid bought "oh-so-gorgeous-" David Beckham? Surely not because of his football skills, but because they knew he would get more people (and especially girls) to watch Real Madrid play.
I count myself to the 1% of female who just adore the game, no matter how the guys look like. Hey, they should play football, I'm not interested in more then their feet. That's the most important part of their body for ME. However, all of the other girls watching the game prefer to think about his... you-know-what. Bitches.
And the worst thing is: Now, automatically, all guys think that a girl that watches football only comes because of the players. Right in 99 cases of 100, but not always.

Lucky for me...I LOVE football....and it doesn't hurt that there are hot guys. But in general I watch the game because the sport is interesting...but when there are cute guys on the field...I REALLY pay attention lol. I can't say I only watch it for the guys because I watched all the World Cup games and a lot of the guys weren't cute.

I watch for the actual game but I'd be lying if I said that some of the players being attracive wasn't an added bonus. We can appreciate football skills and a nice body. Guys do it too you know.

Don't let a couple of girls who only watch for the guys make you believe that all girls who watch football are that way because trust me, we aren't.

I agree that some girls really watch the game only for the sake of checking out the "hot guys", but it doesn't mean that all girls are only bent on seeing the best-looking ones. I myself watch football/soccer for the sake of the sport. I mean, there were times when I said that certain players were hot, but I don't just base my opinions on their looks, skills are also a factor. For this reason, whoever who says it shouldn't be saying that ALL girls are "just dumb and stupid".

Well I admit, I kind of watch it for both. I grew up playing the game. I loved it then and I love it now. I love the game itself and I play it all the time and I play in my school's team too but I can't help it when I think some players are hot. It's nature I guess. I can't force myself to not like them. Some girls watch it for the guys only, I don't blame them. At least it would have something to keep them watching and be ineterested.

I watch because I love the game and really enjoy good competition and the skills that some players have amaze me. I get a little annoyed when a question says who do you think is the best player etc and the answer is ...such and such because he is hot. Looks have nothing to do with the game or how it's played. Looks give no one an advantage on the field. But hey it isn't our fault that as women we have the added bonus of looking at some good looking men in the process.
