Well for some people it does go away in their twenties, for others you'll always have one or two. After being pregnant 4 times, I think my hormones are mostly wiped out for the most part which is one of the biggest contributors to acne. I don't get them nearly as bad as I used to - now I just get one or two now and then. There are lots of great products you can use for your skin nowadays. I hear ProActiv is really good.

If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

umm.. of course it does eventually wen all the hormones settle down. im ur age, well 12 but w/e. i dont get much acne, like maybe 1 or 2 pimples every three months. i take care of my skin by:

1. clean my face in the morning and at nite in the shower using Clearasil Daily Face Wash
2. after i wash my face i immediately (so ur pores are still open) and apply Clearasil Blackhead Astringent where i have pimples/blackheads/whiteheads etc. but dont put it in the places taht r clear b/c that will dry out ur skin.
3. every two weeks i use Clean & Clear Clay Mask

i suggest using a face scrub b/c that gets rid of rough skin. use that maybe once every two weeks cuz that can irritate ur acne. and also i suggest an exfoliator. but just be very gentle with ur skin and dont pick at them. hope that helped

hon i understand. i was an "early bloomer" and was already broken out at only 9 years old. now im 14 and my skin is wonderful, because last december i went to see a dermotoligist, which is a doctor that specializes in skin, hair, and nail care. they set me up on medication called Amnesteem, which is a generic form of Acutane. this medicine dries out the oil glands in your face so it permanitally destored all my chances of getting bad skin ever again. i will never have a single break out for the rest of my life because of my medication, which im finishing in a month. good luck!

OMG and you're worried about "ever" at your age? Welcome to your teen years. If you're lucky, once you've completed puberty your acne will clear up. If not, which is the MAJORITY of teens, you'll have it until adulthood.
Some adults still get acne.

It's not curable, but it is treatable.
Talk to your parents about seeing a dermotologist.
