I am going to visit Singapore from Los Angeles, USA. I would like to know where shall I exchange US Dollars to Singapore Dollars:
(1) in US or in Singapore?
(2) if in US, where can I do the exchange in Los Angeles?
(3) if in Singapore, where can I do the exchange?
The goal is to obtain the highest exchange rate so that I can do more shopping in Singapore :)

Better in Singapore, and do it at the currency exchange booths. However not those in the airport. You will come across these money changers in most shopping malls, and they give you better rates than the banks in the airport.

The exchange rate is universal. You'll have the same exchange rate in the US and in Singapore.
I recommend bring at least some Singapore Dollars with you just in case. They don't use US dollards there so you'll need some money just to get going.
You can exchange money at any international bank in Singapore. Some hotels will also do exchanges. There will also be these booths at the airport.
Same thing in the US. You can exchange money at any international bank there in LA.

It is better to exchange it in Singapore because the US Dollar is of more value than the Singapore Dollar. (1 USD = 1.58795 SGD)
You can exchange at the Airport, but I got better rates in Exchange stores in any shopping area in Singapore.

You always get better deals exchanging currencies at licensed Money Changers in Singapore - banks and hotels always give you the lower rates.

the exchang rate is about 1.5
You can do the exchange in Singapore either at the airport or at Serangoon Plaza where Mustafa is.. you will get it about 10 or 20 cents cheaper...
but even the rates at the airport is ok.
I think you can also bargain the price at the money changer near mustafa.

Easy. Go to money changers that you can find all over the island and exchange them. No commission. Best is to go to Orchard Road or People's Park Complex in Chinatown where there are plenty of money changers.
