Both computers are on the same network. I have access to all of the files on the other machine through the network neighborhood. If more details are needed, feel free to contact me through my e-Mail address.

Use the remote access feature if you are running on windows. You could also use remote assistance- msn messenger. One thing to note is that if you want to access another pc using remote access you must know the ip address of the pc you are trying to access.

Do you mean just the icons themselves that are on the desktop?
Or do you want to control the other machine?
if it's the files themselves, just find the actual path to the desktop itself (like C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator.MACHINENAME\Desktop) and access the files from there.
If you want to take over the machine, use VNC (RealVNC).
It's fast, small, sets up in a snap, and much easier than remote desktop. plus it's free.

you may want to check out Remote Assistance or remote desktop in xp.

Also, you can use programs like gotomypc.com
Do a google search there are plenty of programs that can do that.
