It seems odd to me that a substantial amount of women wear clothing that is revealing yet I bet none of them say that they want men to respect them for their bodies. So why do they dress like that? Don't women know that (some) men do want to have a woman that is smart and funny, and that body is not that important.?

And YES, dressing like that DOES entitle a man to oggle with his eyes because guess what...you are asking for it.

Think God you asked that question...........!
I haven't been able to understand this one either. But personally i don't dress in a reveling way because i know that the moment a man sees me he'll look at my body first....(nor do i dress in tight clothing where you can see my body as if i were nude...) and i do want a man to respect me for my body and everything else.....

Progressively we tolerate more and more. In the case of women who dress provacativly, as these trends continue in about 5 to ten years we will see them in nothing but a thong and flip flops. All of that aside, there is still an inner person in there that men want to know other than that would just be the male animal lust.

Guess we feel certain amount of power through our sexuality because men react to beauty, and a woman's body has always been an art form. So, we do want to be noticed for our beauty but we want more still: we want the men to get to know us at a deeper level to know that physical beauty is not all we have to offer.

Yes, we are difficult to understand, but dont' you think it's more fun that way? :)

Some women don't know what they want. They feel as though they need to first attract a man with their body and then reveal their true personality so the man could like them for who they are. Think of it as though they are stupid and contradicting themselves. ;)

stereotypes, trends, misunderstanding...call it what you want. i'm not the type of girl who dresses reavealing unless i just want a piece or i'm out with my bf and he dresses me sexy. i think that if the men who know the body isn't important would just pipe up or actually go after the smart pretty girl that isn't dressed like a hooker instead of the one that is, then maybe more women would feel like they can go out and dressed comfortably rather than skanky.

Well, when your hot, you can't help, plus we like to dress up sexy, it makes you feel good. And anyone who has half a brain knows that if you and a guy are getting serious, he will get to know you.
plus that's mostly just the weirdo chicks that are feminists that say that. i can definately express my funny side, and intelligence :)
My hubby loves it.

i would guess that its because even some women who want to be appreciated for who they are, still enjoy the ego boost of a guy telling them they look good. Also, if it makes you feel attractive you carry yourself better and have more confidence and everybody likes a person that is confident and at ease with themselves.
