It's not unusual, especially in the first 2 years after menarche, to skip periods or to have an irregular menstrual cycle. Illness, rapid weight change, or stress can also make things more unpredictable because the part of the brain that regulates periods is influenced by stuff like this.

Some girls always have irregular periods; others get theirs every 28 days like clockwork. Many are regular most of the time, but occasionally skip a period or get an extra period during times of pressure or stress. In fact, you may notice that when you go on a trip or have a major change in your schedule your period is late.

If your having sex you may be pregnant but lets hope not
Another thing is since your only 14 when you gain weight or lose weight you can stop having you period for a few months it might be because your growing ect.. you can get your mom to take you to the doctor and alot of time they put you on the pill to make your periods regular. I went through the same thing at 14. Im alot older and still have irregular periods. thats just the way women are. Sorry you have to go throught this to.

It happens to some people. I don't know exactly what the reason for is. Talk to your doctor. My friend got her period when she was 10 and she had her period for 2 years straight. Then for a whole YEAR, it just didn't come at all. After that year, it came back. She had scheduled doctor appointments for it too and I think she was eventually put on some birth control pills. Just talk to your mom and your doctor. It's not normal, but it happens.

Btw, this friend of mine was and still is a virgin.

If ur period is normal--well u may be pregnant. and another thing it is also normal to not get it. I started having my period when i was 14 it was regular until I was like 19 and then it changed now I get it like once every 2 months ---so just get a pregnancy test and if ur not pregnant go to ur dr. he may prescribe u birthcontrol to control ur period---it works.

Honestly, that may be normal, but as a precaution you might want to talk to your doctor.
From personal experiance, I've had periods, like 4, within a 12 week period, so anything goes.

It's normal. I got my period in March and just got another one last week. This has been going on since I was 16 and I am 19. Docs like to push birth control for this. To "fix" you. Think about all your options.

not really. i started my period when i was 13. i'm 17 now and my period is still not regular. go get checked. be VERY honest with ur doc. tell him/her if your having sex, if you did recently for the first time ur period will be funny for about 2 or 3 months. God Bless

Well, if you're not having sex, then you aren't pregnant. Sometimes we miss our period because our body is still trying to adjust to it. I don't think 3 months is healthy though. You're body may be trying to tell you that it's sick. Let your mom know, and go see you doctor as soon as possible....

i'm not sure. i'm only 12 and i've had mine for a few months.but peroids are hard to understand, but the doctor might be able to to help more, cuz there are doctor-prescribed pills to bring ur period on, so tell your mom your concern, and go to the doc. hope this helps!! :)
