I just bought an apartment complex that has 24 apartments in it.

I do not wish to rent to anyone that is a republican because of their support for this illegal war in iraq, and i do not like their values and do not wish to have them there and bring down the value of the complex. Is this legal? Can I ask them to provide voter registration before I accept a lease contract with them? I just dont want anyone from that party that has supported sended our brave troops in harms way based on lies and fabrications. I love America and I love the freedom we use to have. I just dont care to associate with an extremist political group.

thanks

Why would you care? Charge them more then.

I don't think equal opportunity housing considers political affiliation a protected class of people.

If you discriminate agaist republicans then you are no better than the extremists of that party you so dislike. Besides, how much will you actually associate with them?

Do you belive in freedome of speech and freedom of association? R's are entitled to their opinion just like you are -- even if you don't like it.

Would you really want to risk NOT renting it out for some time vs. renting to somebody right away if they were republican? Geez, don't cut off your nose to spite your face.

btw-- I'm a dem

I am not a republican nor a democrat, nor take any political sides unless the issues are justified and for the good of people. Wow, that means that I am not for most sides of political issues. I believe in treating everyone equal whether they are stupid, sound stupid or make stupid comments or questions such as yours.

It is called discrimination whether race, color, creed, religion, political, or most anything unless it causes harm or death to others. What you just asked was a dumb question. I just hope that you didn't mean that because you only put yourself in the same category as what you just put republicans. HATRED, and ANGER are idiotic reasons to not do moral things for your fellow MAN, WOMAN, OR CHILD. I could go on and on about all this bull-crap but since you consider yourself a smart individual you may get the point.

By the way it wasn't just Republicans that sent our troops to war it was voted also upon by the congress which houses Both parties Republicans and Democrats. What country do you live in? It's like me giving you the gun to shoot someone and then I turn around and say that you should not have shot anyone because you knew it was wrong. Yet I was also wrong because I knew your intentions and I still gave you the gun. Simply put.

I don't think you can do that.Although I am not nuts about a lot of Republicans, on a whole they are not responsible for what the government does. And besides I don't believe it is legal to do that . Race, sexual orientation( in most areas) age, sex these are covered by anti-discrimination laws but I never heard of anyone trying not to rent to a political party. That's a new one on me!!

Find something else.
I wouldn't want any Republicans in my apartment either.
(unfortunately, it's a free country).

Is he a very vocal, righteous person? Does he demean your allegiance to the DNC? You can toss him on the street for that.

Congratz on your property investment. I wish you the best.

No that would be discrimination. You should not even be asking what their political party is. I would also like to say that your attitude is disgusting! You sound like a Nazi. How childish "they don't think they way I do so I won't rent to them" GROW UP YOU COMMUNIST!
