That there isn't a magic age. I see a lot of people answering questions about the proper age to get married or have a child with 18 or 21, supposedly because you're mature enough at that age. I was more mature at 12 than half of the adults I know, yet I know that I'm still nowhere near ready to have a child. I still have college to complete, then law school, then there's the task of finding someone whose child I would actually want to give birth to. People tend to not realize that having a child ties you to a person for life. I'm not just talking about unmarried people having children, I'm talking about married couples having children just to save a failing relationship. There are people in their 30s and 40s doing that, while there are just as many young couples with stable jobs and homes who are ready to have children, yet are constantly told that they're too young for the responsibility. What's your opinion on the matter?

You're never too old or too young.
I have a kid, I'm 16 now.
Screw what people think, don't listen to what they tell you.
If you're ready, go for it.
If not, don't.

And people screwing to save a relationship are doing more harm to themselves.

I got married to my high school sweetheart at 18, while I was in college. I went on to law school, started a career, had three children... and the most miserable marriage imaginable. The pain, emptyness and heartache were so much I saw it as a matter of death or divorce, and I was a very strong, very successful man.
At 18 you're barely learning how to be an adult and other than growing up together, you have little to offer a life partner. You have no idea who you, or they, will become in 10 or 20 years, or how much your values are going to change.
Physically, your brain tissue does not fully mylenate until you turn 25 or so (which means it's not just lack of experience. You literally can't think quite rationally yet).
Marriage in your teens is insane. Literally.

You are a very wise person. Some people will never stop to think
about these questions you pose. They just let life happen, have
chidren before they are mature enough, mentally stable enough.
If more people did stop & think this over there would be less divorce, less giving children to grandparents to raise. Too they
would , in the end make a better life for themselves and the children they might have in the future. Good question.
