Could I be pregnant?

Question

My last period started June 18th, I had protected sex *condom* on 7/01 (and only that day in this month), I should have gotten my period 7/16 and it is now 7/19 with no period. I took two HPTs (ept) and both were negative. I've been very stressed at work for the past two months, but am used to stress, with my period almost always coming within a day or two of when it should, with rare occassions that it doesn't. I'm scared that I am pregnant even though I took precautions to not be, but because I had sex on the day I was supposed to be ovulating, could a condom not be enough and I really am pregnant? My breasts have been sensitive, and I've had an upset stomach for a few days as I usually do before my period, but have been having more sharp pains in my stomach than usual. Any opinions??

There is always that possibilty because condoms are only 99% effective, but with the stress you've been under, it could be that too. I would say wait a week and if it still doesn't show up call your doctor for a test.

Well there is a good possibility that you are not pregnant. Because of the different hormones that are secreted, like LSH, FSH, these kind of hormones stimulate the release of the hormone that regulate ovulation, maybe you need to check your diet. What you eat can go a long way. If you still don't believe me then go to a free clinic. I may be a student doctor, but I still do not know everything. Even though I have been thru embryology classes, endocrinology, and histology classes, I still know quite a bit.Sometimes your period does not always come when you think it will. For example my fiance has not had her period in 5 months and she is not pregant, she has a poor choice in the food that she eats, and she does not exercise, and she is always dieting. hopefully this will help. Maybe you need to also stop stressing as much, that can always be a factor.

No I don't believe you are. Condoms are pretty safe. I believe you are just worrying yourself and that is why you haven't gotten it yet. Give it a few more days. Those ept tests are pretty good as well so if it's negative, believe them. If you were pregnant your hormones would change fast and it would be picked up by the ept test. Sometimes periods just get off balance due to the women you hang around. You will see when the women in your life at work or at home have their periods, so will you. Ask the women that sit by you at school or work if they got their periods this month yet, you'll see what I'm talking about...

I think if you used a condom properly, and have had negative tests then its very unlikely you are pregnant and are probably just delaying your period through stress. The sharp pains are probably just period pains but worse because you are late. You said you usually get an upset tummy and sore boobs anyway. Pregnancy tests are very reliable when used properly, i know you wont relax until your period comes but i really doubt you are pregnant.

Go to the chemist or drugstore and get a home pregnancy test, or see a doctor.

Other users here at YA cannot guess if you are pregnant.

Consider going on the Pill or the Patch, if you want more secure protection.

its all stress. RELAX. Drink hot tea, Soak in the tub with hot hot water. It will show up as soon as you relax...
