I would remind them of the consequences and tell them that stealing is wrong because you are doing harm to the owner of the business even if it is something as simple as a candy bar. Stealing is dishonest and no matter what the object is or how great the value is, it is the principle that matters. If they didn't put the bar back I would walk away and decide that they are not worth being friends with if they have no integrity. After committing an act like that, how can you ever truly trust them that they won't steal from you if they get the chance?

Friendship is not letting friends steal. You are an accomplice to the crime if you don't say or do anything about it. Your friend will allow you to take the fall with them? Some friend!
Maybe you should have enough money to pay for the candy bar for them. That's a friend. Be funny about it... say to the cashier something like "my friend there can't wait to eat the candy bar that he hid in his pocket, so I would like to pay for it if I may."
It'll keep your friend from having to face the police and then being behind bars later in life. What a valuable lesson you will have taught your friend!

While in the store I would ignore it,so as not to draw attention-but once outside I would let them know how wrong doing something like that is. I would seriously reconsider having a person like that as a friend.

I'd make sure nobody saw him then I'd make him share it with me once we got back to the car. I wouldn't steal it myself b'cuz I wouldn't want to get caught, however I could care less about right and wrong in this case, I like candy bars too much! YUM!!!

Well, i don't think you should hang out with that person again. That's the wrong crowd. Because later on, your friend will be telling you to steal also and will make fun of you if you don't. And sooner or later, your friend will be caught. And you wouldn't want your friend to rat you out too if you got caught she/ he would prolly say ' well she/ he stole too'

Don't worry about it, as long as your not doing it you'll be fine. In the end he/she will get caught and he/she'll learn their lesson. For pete's sake DO NOT turn them in though, unless you want to be friendless for awhile.
p.s.its only a candy bar

They know that what they are doing is wrong. If i was with them and they did that, i would leave as soon as i could and not be involved. you dont want to be corrupted in that direction, believe me. you dont have to tell on them, just dont go down that path, or you could end up in a very bad place.

I help them to steal as much as possible. haven't had a friend that did that though since junior high. Too many places have camera these days and it's so much harder to steal without getting caught
