Me too! It just started today.....hopefully it is a glitch in Yahoo and they will repair.

you may have spam software or a "rule" within your email program that is sending email it thinks is junk straight to the trash. so by the time you go look in your inbox it migth already be in the trash can. it might still be in bold, or otherwise look brand new in the trash so your email program might still think it's new and display the new mail icon.
bottom line: check the trash. tweak your spam filter if necessary. for instance, if it's a "rule" in your email program there might be an option to first mark it as "read" before it throws it in the trash.

mine does it when u get a message that says incoming message it could take a while to get the message .i got a message a week later before

everyone has had that problem and several others with yahoo mail all day. nothing you can do about it. be patient they will fix it sometime in the next 12 years or so :)
