For me, i think the fifth was best, as i think J.K Rowling differed a bit from her style. She usually tells the stories from a perspective where we couldn't see too much into the characters feelings. But OOTP was so detailed with Harry's internal struggles, and really brought him to life as a character and allowed the reader to connect with him on a different level. In contrast, i think HBP was the worst of her books, i think her style at times seemed to much like the fanfic on the teen websites, but I'm hoping the 7th one doesn't disappoint. I doubt it could though, it IS harry potter.

I think Prizoner of Azkaban is the best, though Half-Blood Prince is a close second, with Sorcerer's Stone right behind.

Maybe because I'm such a fan of the Marauders, and JKR gives us such a wonderful insight into what could have been between the four friends. Maybe because it's the closest thing that Harry has had to a normal year, where Voldemort wasn't breathing down his neck the entire time and he had a chance to start growing up a bit in a not-so-urgent sort of method.

I personally thought that Order of the Phoenix read like JKR went and collected bits and pieces from the very worst fanfictions she could find and put them all together into one story though. It wasn't even because Sirius died. I just felt that it was incredibly poorly written, and most of the characters just didn't seem in-character in regards to how she had portrayed them in the previous books, and even in Half-Blood Prince. And I think there was a lot of useless information--she can't possibly tie up all the loose ends she created in Order of the Phoenix in only one book. And maybe she doesn't plan on tying some of them up, but it left a bitter aftertaste in my mouth.

That's a tough one. They are all great in their own right. However, if you twist my arm enough, I would have to say that Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is the best. That one is where JK Rowling started to make things more dark. The battle Harry has with Voldermort really came into it's own in that book-with Voldermort being reborn and a flesh and blood entity now. Plus, I also liked the little sub plot with the whole Yule Ball thing--Harry wanting to ask Cho out and the whole Ron/Hermione/Victor thing was great. The book was well written and intriguing. I just loved the teen angst moments interwoven with the brutal reality that evil was on its way to take out Harry for good.

I consider the third book, "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" to be by far the best of the series. It was well written, flowed nicely, and gave us a glimpse of what was to come. The next best would be book five, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix". Even with Sirius' death, it opened up more about why Harry was so important.

The Order of The Phoenix or The Deathly Hallows. I save in recommendations quite playing The Order of The Phoenix. Harry as instructor, Breaking into Ministry headquarters, Sirius death & Harry's destiny being printed, that scene in Hog's Head at the same time as each human being is discussing Harry's previous exploits. It became all epic

I personally enjoyed Order of the Phoenix the most. Even though it was annoying at times, I thought that Harry's behavior seemed more human than in all the other books. It was nice to see a kid who has gone through a lot act like a real person. I mean lets face it. He's an orphan, lives with people who hate him, has faced Voldemort a countless number of times, and has an godfather who has recently escaped from prison. I don't know anyone who wouldn't crack after awile.

I also liked Harry and Sirius' relationship. Before Book 5, he was my favourite character, and it was nice to learn a little it more about him; his history, and his past relationships with Harry's parents. As much as I hated to see him die in the end, I felt it was necessary in order for Harry to grow up. He needed to experience someone he cared about die. It is war, after all.

Setting aside the emotional aspects of the book, I enjoyed all of the amusing sub-plots such as Grawp, Kreacher, and Professor Umbridge.

I love 'Goblet of Fire'. It was really a turning point in the series where Harry is forced to take his first steps into adulthood when he realises the hard way that his hero status is not fun or a game and that good people can die in war. I also liked how we saw Ron's darker, bitter side and saw the adult characters being further developed.

In order my list goes, from favourite to least favourite: GoF, PoA, CoS, OotP, PS and HBP.
