I'm wondering how current they are. I was looking at Lebanon today, specifically Beirut, and couldn't see any areas that looked bombed.

The satellite imagery that is used on Google Imagery is 5 years old at any one point in time to prevent security threats.

Clear satellite imagery (where you can actually see cars and the roads) are only provided for certain areas in the United States only - all other areas are just blurred .. as is the rest of the world when you try to zoom in.

There are entire forums dedicated to finding cool stuff in Google Earth, on one of them I saw an airplane hovering above ground, it's pretty cool. Just run a search for it.

It really depends on the area. I saw my car in the driveway of my house in Northern California and I bought the house less then 2 years ago. Some areas are less frequently updated. I have no doubt the sattelites are hovering above Lebanon snapping hi-res pictures, but these are not going to Google Earth just yet.

some photos are as much as date extra frequently than others. In some aspects, the imagery could be as new as six months previous at the same time as others could be as previous as 5 years. All imagery discovered on Google isn't as much as date on an analogous time.
