Do you think that sending red roses (for Valentine's or otherwise) is overrated? My hubby sent me "sorry I'm being an @ss" roses and that got me thinking....what do you think?

Not if there is a true meaning for why you sent them. I never send flowers for apologies. I just apologize. I send my wife flowers just because it's Tuesday 11:13 A.M. I pick specific flowers that have meanings; they either describe a trait that I love about her, or they have a specific feeling I have toward her, which is always a good one. I usually write a poem, or letter to go with it as well.

My fiance asked me on our first date what kind of flowers I liked. My answer was "anything but roses". Any idiot can screw up and order a dozen roses, it's the gold standard. I've received many bouquets in the 3 years since, every one was chosen by him, and even the ones that didn't look so great or had some ugly weird flower in them still meant the world to me because they meant someone took the time to go to the florist, look around and pick out each flower. That's better then a dozen overpriced roses any day.

Yes, I do. I hate "I'm sorry" flowers. They kind of piss me off even more, the opposite of their intent.

I do love flowers on occasion, but red roses seem so sterile to me - the florists roses have no smell. I prefer different mixed flowers, a simple bouquet from the corner market is fine.

I don't like valentines roses but have never had the heart to tell any guy that. They always come in that creepy coffin box, and I hate the long stems, plus - no actual lovely rose smell.

I really don't understand why send flowers on any occasion because they die. if your husband sent you flowers to try and make up with you as soon as the flowers die you remember why they were given to you in the first place. It's a sorry make up gift. He needs to do something from the heart like a foot massage or back rub maybe cook dinner.

I don't think it's overrated. I would LOVE it if my fiance sent me roses! Or just picked them up somewhere and brought them home! I love red roses (they are my favorite). Yes, they die in time, but it's the thought of it, the fact that he thought of me enough to get them and spend that money on me.

i do not imagine sending them to artwork can be a sturdy theory. yet perhaps 2 dozen rose petals on the mattress or in a warm bubble bathtub with you to unwrap our discover lower than the bubbles may be very superb.
