Paris Hilton is to Marilyn Monroe as bologna is to a fine prosciutto.
Monroe left behind a legacy of enjoyable films and memorable performances. Paris Hilton has yet to define her own legacy beyond frivolous entertainments and Lohan-bashing.
I haven't written her off yet, but I'll be curious to see what she's like if and when she ever matures. I suspect she'll be another Zsa Zsa, more famous for her name than her talents.

Ugh. How can Paris even put herself in the same category with Marilyn. Marilyn in my opinion is untouchable. And an even better question is how Paris coul even could consider herself a star. She's done nothing! Except a C-List movie remake of The House of Wax and a degradable porn movie. If there could be a star of being famously known for nothing, parading around parties, getting drunk, pissing off daddy's money, and making yourself look like an idiot half the time, Paris would be the QUEEN. Point blank.

Paris Hilton isn't even good looking, for one thing. Marilyn Monroe was flat out beautiful and had sex appeal oozing out of her. Paris Hilton is a spoiled little rich girl whose only claim to fame is her porno flick that got "accidently" sent over the Internet. I bet her parents are so proud. Marilyn Monroe was a classy lady, even though she had obvious mental/psych issues. She was far underestimated as a serious actress, and she had a flair for comedy as well. Paris Hilton could barely speak coherently on that show, whatever the name of it was. Putting her in the same league as Marilyn Monroe, or any serious actress in Hollywood is a joke. She ranks right up there with the rest of the porno stars....a big zero. Not even close!!! As far as her sex appeal goes, she made a porno and was nude....end of story. If anyone is even close to Marilyn Monroe in this decade, I would nominate Kim Basinger, Michelle Pfeiffer, or Virginia Madsen. They are hot, sexy women with great acting skills......enough said.

I think that Paris Hilton is definitnately a star but I do not think that she ranks anywhere near Marilyn Monroe or Princess Diana as an icon or legend. Marilyn and Lady Di both had class and elegance and are both remembered for their work long after their untimely deaths. This is just my opinion!

Paris is nothing but tabloid trash and is nowhere near the same level as Marilyn.I would say Pam Anderson is in the same league, ..I dunno, when i think of the all time famous sex symbols i think Marilyn, Farrah Fawcet,and Pam.I think all 3 names, no matter if u like them or not, will be rembered more than what Paris the skank ever will be. So no, i dont agree with her , shes not even close

yeah i read her quote. well it does sound true about how every decade has a blonde icon.......but she doesn't seem to be it. Marilyn Monroe seemed more sophisticated(i know it's hard to believe) but compared to Paris>>>>>>chaw!!! She's been in the tabloids a lot, but she doesn't deserve to be "the icon"

She is in no way the "iconic blonde" of this generation. Monroe had way more charisma than Parisite, and she was actually beautiful. Just b/c she's blonde doesn't make her worthy of praise. Or maybe she defines it for all the dumb people who look up to her. But certainly not me.
