The scrotum must maintain a certain temperature as to not damage the precious sperm making machines down there so they shrink to try and use the heat in the man's body.

Our "things" do not "shrink." Our "things" are creating millions of sperm cells every day. In order for our "things" to effectively create sperm, they must be kept at a certain temperature, just ever-so-slightly cooler than the rest of our body. If it gets too cold down there, then our bodies automatically pull our "things" closer to our body, in order to keep them the proper temperature necessary to create healthy sperm.

They contract for heat conservation. ;)

I was reading some other answers and I have to point out that NO the sperm does not "have" to be body temperature. Actually for optimim sperm they should be a little below body temperature. Thats why the testicles hang away from the body.
WOW what a moron

The part your speaking of is contracted closer to the center of the body to maintain its temperature as the sperm must be kept at at body temp. plus a degree or two to maintain viability. The blood flow is also affected.
