A few times, usually while traveling. I was amazed at the force of Niagara Falls and how you could just step off the ground right into the water--there aren't guardrails or anything. It's just so intense, so fast-moving--it made me think about death and the afterlife just to look at it because it was so powerful and potentially deadly and just flowing past because that's what it does.
Mayan architecture blows my mind. Uxmal, Chichen Itza, Palenque...wow. Gorgeous, monumental, incredible, detailed. It's fantastic.
I was also truly amazed the first time I saw Beetlejuice. That opening scene, with the model and the spider...I wanted to make movies, be in movies, see movies for the rest of my life. It was incredible. I couldn't believe that movie--it was so stylish and funny and spooky and brilliant. One of the best movies ever.
And Mexican frozen desserts--damn, they're good! I had no idea they'd be so much better than the ones in the U.S. I'd go back there just for the popsicles and the coconut ice cream.

I have been amazed by so many miracles in my life. The miracle of surviving extreme abuse and poverty. The miracle of my eldest being hit by a conversion van at 65 miles per hour down hill and coming out with minor injuries with no ill effects ever since. The miracle of my disabled son being born two months early and surviving against all odds and speculation. He graduated himself out of special education TWO YEARS AGO. I was told to always expect him not to be able to grasp the basic understanding of educational principals. He is now an eight year old reading at an 11th grade level. Good God what a miracle. I'm constantly amazed at the miracle of answered prayers for myself and others. I'm amazed by the transformation of my love for others and self through the seeking of Jesus Christ. I'm most amazed by the miracle of Jesus in laying down his life for me (I can't understand how a bigger than badder dude totally subjected himself to man to the point of death that I might have life...and that more abundantly)....yep...I'd say I'm most amazed by that! LOL

TRULY AMAZED by God's love.
How could it be, that a King would die for me and all my sins?
A King who gave His very life to save my soul.
A King who really gave me what I don't deserve at all.
