Marvel, DC, or any other comic publisher. Try to explain why-is it their abilities, personality, costume, etc.?

A lesser known hero.

Think of someone other than Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, Captain America, Iron Man, Wonder Woman, Flash or Green Lantern.

Examples can include sidekicks, members of other superhero groups like Young Justice, Teen Titans, Doom Patrol, New Mutants, or from any source, DC or Marvel.

Iceman would be my answer but i think he's more of a first string, or at least was. He is VERY powerful. From the start he has held himself back, starting with only letting himself become snow. His powers have been revealed as being much higher than expected levels in several events. One of which was when Emma Frost took over his mind and his secondary mutation. In his ice form (which looks awesome) he can be crushed into hundreds of pieces then reform. He even melted once. He is also able to add ice onto his slight frame now, and as he adds that mass he propotionately gains strength. His secondary mutation has caused him to be permanently reverted to this iceform. I like him cuz I can't STAND being hot, so an ICEman would be fun.

Another of my favorites is Gambit (also a maybe on second/first string so ignore this if he is a first) He is also considered weaker than he is. In fact, in one timeline one Gambit accidently charged the entire Earth, causing it to blow up. He was so distraught after doing so he started to travel between alternate futures killing his alternate selves to insure they wouldn't do the same. He also has a good sense of humor and has utterly convinced himself he is the most charming man on earth... not to mention the trenchcoat.

Second string? First of all, I consider Iceman to be first string. He is an Alpha mutant for Christs sake and one of the founding members of the X-Men! So for second string hero, I'd say Deadpool. The guy reminds me of Wolverine and Cable mixed together with a sense of humor. Can't be a merc who won't shut up and doesn't ever run out of ammo!

I would have to say:

Marvel: IceMan - for years Drake was just a loser who made snowballs. Then some one realized that he should be able to do every thing that Hydro Man can do at least.

DC: Been a fan of Deadshot since reading Suicide Squad vol. 1. His first mini series was fantastic. 2nd one sucked.

I liked the comic strip of the huntress. She was the Daughter of batman and Catwoman. In it though even robin was her side kick. I did not like the TV show the WB had because it was not like the origanal comic. It was DC.

Mine is Green Arrow!!
Like batman - his skills are self taught - he's got so much attitude and a great read!
I hear he's being added to smallville soon - if they ever make a movie of him - I want to play him!

Robin. The many different characters wearing the cape to stand beside Bats are all interesting. They all have different personalities and are not dull and common.

The Question is my favorite because his conspiracy theory obsession leads to so many great lines that he can say. Plus his noir look is great.
