Why is it harder for a man to get child surport out of a women rather than a women get it from a man?

Cause even though they say this is a "mans world" its really not its a "womans world" and in the eyes of most judges mothers should have their kids however it doesnt always work out that way and its not always best for the child... But to get child support out a deadbeat mother is like milking a turnip you just cant do it and there is nothing you can do about it we are in the same boat we have my husbands son and have had for 3 yrs now and have got child support for 2 months and then the lawyer had it stopped and we have tried to go thru 2 different states to get it and STILL NOTHING... If you find out how to get it LET ME KNOW!!! They have a MILLION BILLION excuses why they cant get it... Its funny cause if it was a man not paying he would be sitting UNDER the jail nowadays!!! Its sad really!

I will try another angle - child support is so the child can live at the same economic level prior to the divorce. Since in most relationships the male makes the most money the it is usually the male that pays. Child support is to pay for the child's food, shelter and clothing. I know its a joke - but really child support was a way in which the courts could stop so many women from going on welfare and other social service programs. Isn't it amazing that the enforcement of child support really became big with the government when they started cutting the social service programs for the states. Contrary to popular belief child support is really the governments way of getting out of paying women benefits they would otherwise be entitled to. Yes I am a women. But because most women have a court order for child support they do not qualify for other services - even though they are not receiving in on a regular basis. So maybe the question should be why is there really child support in the first place. Maybe the government should go back to the old ways in which it helped single parents not condone them.


Sorry for the rant - this is a very sore subject for most single parents.

it's because of the ongoing bias... women get to decide on terminating pregnancy with or without the father's consent... and i personally believe that if a woman has unilateral decision-making in that, then she should have the responsibility of sole support if she decided to keep the baby against the father's wishes... it's very confusing.. i guess just because the male has traditionally been the provider and people can't seem to get away from that. And because women are all for child support laws until they apply to them, kinda like any law, most people are all for it until it hurts them... or applies to someone they didn't think it would.

Because our lawmakers still have the old mentality of women staying at home carrying for the children and men working,in reality women now make as much and in some cases more than their counterparts.

It's hard for everyone. I am a divorced mother of three and have had child support against their father for four years now. In four years I may have gotton three checks (and the amount were the minimum because they based it on him not having a job). Believe me, it's hard for allot of women. Those women who do get it and don't appreciate it, I'd love to slap them!

simple answer in most cases women get custody of there children however more men out there make more money than women that is why the rates or lower for men, unfortunly there women that makes tones of money but in that case you wouldnt have to worry about child support unless she was deadbeat and if your making lots of money you can bet the women has her child, it really does suck for men, women get everything most of time good luck and best wishes

because some family courts favor the women.... but there are some really good dads that are being screwed out of child support

Child support is hard to get no matter who he/she is. I would say men because that is usually the ones that are put on child support.

the woman always gets the kids, unless the father car prove that the mother is unfit, and if so, the father will get the kids, and the monther will have to pay child support.
