I know you only want breastfeeding mums but i help women B/F as part of my job. Some babies prefer laying in a certain position whilst feeding so will only go on one side. Have you tried different positions? Laying on your side on the bed with baby next to you can be quite a good one. If you have a pump (you can hire or buy them) then express milk off the side he doesnt like to stop running into any problems, maybe there is less milk there? If you express off this side your boob should return to normal. You could feed the expressed milk through a botttle if you didnt want to waste it, your baby at 6 1/2 months will be well established at the breast so wont get nipple/teat confusion. Good luck with this you have done well to breastfeed for so long. Take carexx

My son is kinda the same way. He will take both but he seems to prefer one, and that one always produces more milk because of it. I'm in the process of weaning right now, and they're about the same size. If you possible can, try the other one, and if he really wont take it, I would suggest pumping because it will get infected (if its not already) if the same milk just sits in there. You should probably ask a doctor or check with the La Leche League, they will have some really good info for you.

I'm not sure if I can answer your question but I can relate to you. My daughter who is now one likes one breast over the other and now my breast are two different sizes.. I try to feed her off both but she likes one better. thats where my breast pump comes in handy. although that one she does not like doesn't make much milk it still helps a little. I'm hoping they go back to normal after she's done. Which I'm hoping is soon, she'll be one tomorrow. Good luck

You need to start him on the un-preferred breast because he will be hungriest then. If he just refused then you need to pump that breast to get more milk production out of it. Try to decrease the amount of milk out of the larger one so it's not constantly getting stretched out. Your breast may not go back to the same size when your done breast feeding. good luck breastfeeding is hard!

It's normal for a lot of babies to nurse on one breast only. Keep in mind that the difference in size is a lot more obvious to you than to other people because you are looking down. :-) It will straighten itself out later on--after baby is no longer nursing if not before.

While feeding try to tell a short story by seeing baby's face and while the baby watching deeply, change the baby to suck in the other breast

I highly encourage you to use both breast if you possibly can. I don't know if it's the same for everyone but I know from past experience that they do not go back to same size.

You could pump the side that baby doesn't like and use that for bottles/sippys or for mixing into foods to thin them out when offering solids.
You could also try the "slide over position" and see if you could trick him to nurse on the other side. Start him on the side he prefers in the cradle hold and then slide him to the other side without changing positions. You might be able to trick him into nursing on the other side. Also, maybe nursing side-lying in bed you could get him to do the other side?

possibly it could not be the breast hun, but how you are holding your child. notice it and try to imitate it on your other side and see if it conforts your child. also, if that doesnt work, put sugar water on the other side, it gets your child attention and like it, thus eating off of the other side for a while. then just slowly take away the amount of sugar water you use and get your child used to eating without it.

It will. Try pumping the one your baby doesn't like so much, or holding her in a different position at that one. Sometimes they just prefer to lay on one side more than the other.
