Consider other ideas also as they are put forth to your question.

One suggestion could be to use the place for vocational education and training centre there. This could help the people of the village and nearby areas to come and learn things for starting their own small and tiny businesses. This could facilitate self-employment particularly for those who don't have land for cultivation/agriculture and by learning vocational skills there they can help themselves, their families and the community as a whole.

I know this is not going to be a that easy task, yet if you have thought of taking such an initiative, nothing is impossible - particularly good deeds. You can help lighting many candles in chain by lighting the first one - starting from somewhere!

How very kind, thoughtful, and benevelent of you.
Perhaps a park or playground for children where locals could also hold festivals etc. Maybe those in the village, without a plot of land, could use part for individual family vegetable garden plots. Fruit trees, berrys, etc. could be planted and the harvest shared by all. If it were my choice, I would make it an annual harvest festival in your benevolent name. Or the fruit is sold and the money goes to help the better-ment of the village. The public could also pay a nominal fee for a garden plot and the money goes to the village.
THERE SHOULD BE MORE UNSELFISH KINDNESS IN THE WORLD LIKE YOU HAVE SHOWN.

The rest of the development of the willage will be done by those who read those useful books which you make available for them for different subjects.
