How do reality TV stars get so much time off of work when they want to take part in shows like Survivor, Big Brother, etc.? I mean, if they don't win the grande prize, then technically, aren't they loosing money? I always wonder...

they have to fill out an application to be on the show in the first place, they are not the easiest tv shows to get on. besides, once they go on the show, they get a certain amount of money depending on how long they stay. I'm sure this is something that everyone has to consider, because it's not just their job they are leaving, it's their husband or wife and their kids......

Unless they have high paying jobs they are ahead of game. Shows like Survivor pay like $2500.00 per episode so if one makes it at least halfway through they get a bundle.

Why wouldn't understanding bosses give time off for the chance of a lifetime? I'm sure most use their vacation and then try to do some butt kissing. LOL

me 2, thats a really good question. I guess they may not gain any money from the show unless they win, but all there amenities and such are paid for...if they even get them haha!

yepp.. i lot of people have to drop out of college or get fired for stuff like that, but i guess they think it is worth it....

if somebody has a good relationship with a friendly boss i can see them giving the time off

i think they are paid. not a lot but some, the shorter amount of time you are on the less you get. not positive but i think i read that before.
