It is doing this rotten kick off all the ding dang time on my e-mail mostly. It keeps giving me a cannot find server page and I know better. I haven't a clue as to the kind of stuff the one person advocated and where do you get it. I hesitate to do anything too drastic because I am afraid to mess up everything else if it is explorer instead of me. I have dial up and anaccerator but it is acting like it is at 20 kps and getting slower. help@!

as good as mcafee is, it doesn't detect all viruses, and is not tuned well to trojans and spyware.
I suggest getting AVG free edition (anti-virus), AdAware (get the original, not the new pretenders) and Spybot Search and Destroy.
Scan wilth all of these, and then see how explorer reacts.
Even better, get Netscape, Firefox, or ANY other browser other than explorer. Explorer is the target of almost every hacker out there making viruses and trojans. It's quite likely you have a poorly written trojan (or trojan written to exploit a different version of Internut Exploder) and is causing your issues. One thing you can do is delete EXPLORER.EXE. The OS will automatically replace it with a copy from it's archives as part of the OS's self protection (if running XP).
Try that only if running the AVG and adaware and spyboy don't help.

i have dial up (i'm in a 'glorified' motel)
sometimes it just takes so long to get back and forth data on dial up
it is actually slower than it used to be
i don't have choice at the moment
i have to move to a new apartment to get high speed
next troubleshoot is
how's your virtual memory?
go to internet->networks
geeks there tell you how to free up your virtual memory,
remove old unnessessary files unused, etc, cookies
obsolete that clogging your ram
happened to me
i got registry cleaner @ www.majorgeeks.com
and it seems to have not been anymore problem
i also defrag and clean hard drive often

that is a bug. i just drag that box down below the bottom of the screen out of sight and keep on going. if you click the send or don't send button all browser windows will close and you have to start over again.

An easier question might be: What isn't wrong with Internet Explorer today?

it's nothing to do with any networking but a system error, try logging in as a different user, that usually works
