It's the trendy way of saying "I am a sad, pathetic person who resorts to pretending to be a 12 year old female on the internet who engages in cybersex with other 40 year old men pretending to be teenagers".

Oh, and I'm 81/F/Nursing home ;D

The only thing I know asl stands for is American Sign Language.

Well, depending on what venue you're in. ASL can stand for American Sign Language. And it could stand for other stuff. I think people just shorten commonly used phrases because it's easier. Companies do it so much they put out manuals--no, really!--to help their employees know what the bosses are talking about.

The consensus will say it means A age S sex L Location. Do not answer that question to anyone unless you want to. Who really needs to know? The only time you may want to consider giving up that info is if you may need to call 911 in case of fire, in that case they will only need to know your location. The A/S/L thing was developed and used by "kids" or maybe pedophiles to canvass for prey.

usually when you're chatting online or so to a stranger, they may say "asl" which means they're asking for your age, sex, and location. I don't think people use the term asl in a formal context.
