Seems like a no-brainer. Just a player with a USB plug that you plug your flash drive into. You should be able to buy a player with no memory for very little money.

Well, they are starting to make home stereos with such things and my car stereo has that. I just stick my USB flash drive in it and it will play the MP3s. But its not as obvious as you think. The reason that MP3 players had memory is that most people don't like the idea of having to walk around with a flash drive AND a player.

But I know what you mean. I have been looking for something like that myself. I once had a customer who brought something like that made by RCA but he got it as a gift so I couldn't get anymore details.

yes, they exest. They are just pretty cheap and you have to get your own memory card.
