I want to quit this job in a nice way. I am only training and I have only been to a few shifts, and I can tell that this is NOT the job for me. Any suggestions. Thanks

I do have a job, to tell you the truth, I have a job that I have been working at for 3 years now, and I love it, but this job was just extra money. So I don't need it. I am wondering how to tell the employer that I am leaving in a nice way.

Walk up to your supervisor and say, "I can tell this is not the job for me and I do not want to waste your training dollars. Would you like some notice or would you prefer that this be my last shift?"
You employer should appreciate your honesty. You will, of course, not use this position on your resume.

Just tell the boss you appreciate the chance he gave you but you don't think this job is for you so you are quiting. I would ask if he would like a 2 week notice. Some places like to have a notice so they have time to find a replacement.

Well first of all do you have another job lined up? If you do then tell them the job is just not working out and its not the right job for you. I worked at mendards for a day and i worked an hour shift that day. After I got home that night i decided that the job was not for me. So i called mendards up and told them the job was just not right for me and i didnt think it was goign to work out. They understood and was happy i told them instead of just not showing up.

Talk to your supervisor, tell him/her that this really isn't working out for you. Tell them the truth. You're not going to use them for a reference if you only worked there a few days, so just calling them and telling them is OK. You may have to go in to sign some paperwork and get your last paycheck, so you may want to go in to talk to your supervisor about this. You don't have to give notice if you are still in training.
Good luck.

You can say you're sorry but you feel this job is not what you wanted and is willing to give them a week's notice. I am quitting my job of two years and it's tough because I don't know what to say.

Do you have something else lined up? If not, you might want to stick it out until you do. Otherwise, it looks like you are a quitter, especially to potential hiring companies.

Do you hate the job, or do you just hate to work? Be honest.

Just tell the manager that it is not what you expected and you don't feel it is a good fit. Apologize for leaving after such a short time. Your honesty and courtesy will be greatly appreciated!
