A cursory review of history suggests that Dark Ages are preceded by hysterical religious beliefs and a fear of discovery and science. Mr. Bush's veto today made me once again ponder if this is what is happening to the world.

Wake up and read the question more carefully, Pricklylash. The question is about Dark Ages, not embryonic cell research.

If you read history from ancient text till whats happening now, you will discover that its the same cycle all over again.

There were terrorist 3000 years ago and 500 years ago and there's Terrorist now.

There was anti science among the Politicians and Religious figure in Italy and Europe many centuries ago and there are still people in this modern scientific age that rejects what can be the most advanced and beneficial findings for mankind

History and Human stupidity is always repeating itself.

Embryonic stem cell research is not even based on empirical science but theory. What is empirical science is that stem cells from placentas do in fact heal paralyzes and regenerate into any type of cells needed for specific healings, in whatever area of the body were cells are needed to regenerate. Why would we wasted money on a theory when we should intelligently invest money in placenta stem cell research. Ask so called progressives about that!

Wake up, and get informed on what the real issues are. Or you may end up believing lies

Assuming that we came out of the last one? Don't worry about that hype. The story about the veto came out to keep people distracted from the real issues. Scientists are beginning to create stem cells without creating an embryo, which makes this whole thing a non-issue. But, I do think that things will get worse before they get better. Armageddon is big business. Keep the struggle alive!

we are on the brink of nuclear extinction and we are on the brink of a golden age of peace

if you sincerely want the world to be different, you will check out any and all plans for improvement

in ten years i have found no other practical plan, no better plan than this

www.globalhappiness.org [not an org]

if you dont check it out, you arent earnestly wanting the best solution - you are comfortable with torture and tyranny and bush and nazis and concentration camps and starvation and sex slavery for a million more girls a year and landmine amputees and 2 million more blind a year for lack of 4c of vitamin A and suicide bombing and unabombers and 9/11s and 50 million starvation deaths a year and war and crime and danger and suffering and an endless string of tyranny presidents like the late roman emperors and nuclear winter a few miles down the track - on a fast train

you dont have to like the plan - just check it out in case there is good in it -

if you dont check out peace plans to find out if they are any good, how are you going to find one?

if you dont seek, you definitely wont find
