One would be a coward and a child to break up via text-message. They wouldn't really be achieving anything, except for making clear the error of beginning the relationship in the first place.

Please do not respond. Don't give him the satisfaction. If he did not want to break up, he would not have sent the message. Just let it go. What he hopes to achieve is a clean break. He doesn't want to meet to "talk things over" he does not want to give an explanation. A clean break is probably for the best. Just go on with your life. There is a very remote possibility that he is not the one sending the message. Perhaps someone got a hold of his phone and sent the message. However if he did send it, get on with your life.

The "text-er" in this situation is immature and the "text-ee" just dodged a bullet. If you are the text-ee, don't waste another second on this idiot and resolve to have healthier relationships with healthy, happy people.

When someone does that its because of the persons insecurity not being able to face hard situations face to face, its kinda like someone telling another person something over the phone and not face to face, they feel more comfortable.

It's an easy way out. They don't want to have to do it in person. They better hope they were serious, because you ditched them, right?

They are to scared or to stupid to do it in person. They don't want to act like an adult.

Sorry to hear the bad news. You are better off without them.
