Yea it will be fine, don't do it every day, you kept your foot on the clutch while driving. All cars will smoke and smell if you do that....try driving without the caravan and keep you foot on the clutch....the same thing will happen...

The car & clutch will be fine but please learn to drive...

Don't embarass yourslef by asking a mechanic, he will only laugh...

It is possibly an indication that the clutch is worn, but on the other hand, you may have just cooked it a little by putting so much strain on it.Its like brakes,if you keep your foot on the brake, then its going to get hot and burn and smell.Whilst it wont have done it any good, your brakes will still work okay once cooled a little.Same with the clutch.I used my Toyota a lot for towing 4x4`s etc and occasionally after a hill climb or stop start traffic i would get a bit of a burning smell from the clutch, but afterwards it would be fine.It went like this for over 18 months, and was still okay when i sold it...never once replacing or adjusting the clutch

you were probably just burning the clutch a little bit. worst situation is a clutch replacement, you can do it yourself but it will take like 12 hours haha. 200 bucks for a new clutch D.I.Y. probably 6-800 at a dealer or mechanic.

kick *** for driving a manual caravan, take that soccer moms.

if its not behaving badly, dont worry about it. you'll feel a serious difference when that clutch is ready to be replaced.

honestly. some morons are going to scare you into thinking this is a big deal, but you can probably beat the hell out of that thing and still be fine. if you're worried about it, take it to a merlin or firestone, or even midas and get a 20 dollar inspection. they will let you know what sort of shape it is in, and if you decide to have them replace it they'll wave the 20 dollar inspection fee.

OK, I don't ever recall seeing any Dodge Caravan with a standard transmission. Smoke probably wasn't coming from the clutch. Just a guess that it may be a leak in the transmission somewhere and dripping on the exhaust. I'm not sure. Does it have a standard transmission? If by some miracle it does, you will surely need a clutch. Good luck.

If you stopped when the smell started, and let it cooled, you would probably have got away with it.

If there was lots of smoke, then you've seriously shortened the life of the clutch.
Pay attention to the operation of the clutch, and if it starts to slip get it replaced. Until then, keep your fingers crossed (not litterally, though - probably not safe to drive with crossed fingers).

its all the way down to technique chum i'm no longer being cruel only actual my brother can placed my caravan on mypersistent [very steep uphill gradient] no undertaking on a similar time as my grasp burns each and every time i do it the trick I actual have been advised is to the two decrease the time it takes to pass or determine you're no longer slipping the grasp to regulate velocity only push on tick-over [i nonetheless burn my grasp no count what i attempt!] good luck my chum happy opposite lock! Andy in basic terms a concept - have you ever checked that the brakes are working properly on your van? the y must be drawing close - thinking the van is catching the vehicle as in forward braking? this could make reversing a nightmare!

afraid not! you may notice you are revving the car more than it should need to move along, because the clutch plate is gone,(worn) you need a new clutch plate, not too dear, most expense is because the engine needs splitting to get it out so its a job that will take a day, and thats if the mechanic is honest and reliable with you, most of them drag it out to be worse that it is.
