For exaple when youre in a drive through at a bank or fast food, should you turn if off, or does it take more gas to start it. I've heard if you let it sit idle for more than 30 sec, it's better to turn it off.

Are you worrying about saving fuel over *30 sec's? Just kick back, turn your tunes up, kick it and relax. You won't worry about those pennies you are using/wasting. Besides won't make much difference. Worry more about the "super-size."
*Every time you turn your car off, oil drains out of the cylinders and restarting it you create more friction, also more wear on your starter, and other mechanical parts.
Overheating could be more of a problem since the air is being blocked by the car in front of you so turn it off after 2 min's in wait.

each physique is speaking approximately gasoline intake, abode windows up or down, and aerodynamics; if it is warm, all of us choose to apply our air con. working an a/c is artwork; artwork takes potential; sure, possibly decrease than the previous a/c gadgets from the 60's and 70's yet nevertheless that's artwork for the motor. no longer something is unfastened; sure the lighting fixtures use potential too, how approximately that communicate? i understand the alternator is making the gentle yet what do you think of is popping the alternator? And nonetheless you will possibly no longer comprehend it, greater load on an alternator makes it tougher to teach. wager what's turning it; the motor; no longer something is unfastened. plenty greater importantly is making beneficial your vehicle temperature can cope with the added stress of working the a/c in the time of the rather heat climate. gasoline isn't much less costly, neither is rebuilding the precise end of your motor considering you overheated it with the added stress of working the a/c. A/C on, watch the temp gauge heavily, if it climbs too plenty, turn it off, if it does not, go away it on and be cool, even for some greater cents.

Ultimately, I've heard it IS more feul efficient to just turn your car off in line. I've done that and had great results. Also, remove excess crap from your trunk to reduce the weight of your car...Keep tires properly inflated (check that often)....no "Jack rabbit starts" when lights change to green...etc.
