I believe it was a Baltimore game. It went a lot of extra innings and I seem to recall it raining on an off. Along these same lines, can coaches be activated to play at the manager's descretion? I'm refering to full-time coaches, not player/coaches or player/managers, such a Pete Rose, Yogi Berra or Manny Mota in the past. Thanks!

i dont recall the game that you mentioned, but its highly likely that a position player did pitch, though you tend to see that happen more often in a blowout rather than in a tie game. as far as the coaches being activated, the answer is no. the coaches are not on the active roster, therefore they cannot play. i'll keep searching for the catcher pitcher thing.

you've stumped me on that one, dude. i do, however, remember the laugher when canseco picthed like a 3rd of an inning and blew out his elbow. good question, but i would guess no due to no contract and legality issues......you know...what if the coach was hurt or whatever.....
