I lived in a town most of my life where the summer weather hit 95 to 100 from June to the end of August. I loved it. I moved away, and I miss that hot weather now. It just irks me to no end how everyone is pissing and moaning about how hot it is across the United States. It's SUMMERTIME! You should expect the occasional above-normal hot weather!

Self-centered..lol...yeah James. I'm totally self-centered. Because I think everyone's blubbering about hot weather. Yup. I can see your reasoning. NOT.

In areas that don't usually get hot weather, a week or more can really wreck havoc. In the SF Bay Area, the increase in smog has prompted several "Spare The Air" days (don't drive) as well as the increased cost of watering plants more often, paying more to run AC, and just plain sweating too much!

I'll take sunny and 75 every day of the week.

Notwithstanding the import issues revolving around global warming, there are several reasons why people are concerned about hot weather. Here are but a few: Lots of elderly people die when the temperature gets too hot; not everybody can afford air conditioning; power consumption and corresponding power bills go up when it gets too hot; pets can suffer and die from hot weather. Perhaps after reading this and other responses you won't be so self-centered and will think more about others.

I personally despise hot humid weather and I am fortunate to live on a lake. In the winter you can always add more clothes but in this weather there is only so much you can take off. I would never ever want to live where its hot so much like Florida, I wouold rather live in the Arctic.

I live in Florida and it's hot here in the summer too. I went back to NY (where I hail from) and sweat my buns off. Why? They have no AC in most houses. Some people there have AC units in their bedroom, but not in the entire house! Go figure! Rather be in Florida in the summer - at least I can escape from it at home!
