I have an 02 toyota corolla. when i turn left or right i hear this clicking/whooshing sound from what seems to be the passenger side rear tire. it doesn't happen every time i turn, though, it seems to only happen on sharp turns. I am pretty sure it comes from the back tire, so it isn't the drive train, i don't think. but what could be wrong???

Sounds like the wheel bearing is shredded. I'd have it looked at immediately. Jack up the rear tire and spin it to see if you can feel the bad bearing or if it's wobbly. Good luck.

you have a bad wheel bearing. dont let it go to long before you change it because they can cause the wheel to lock up.
*** if the noise is coming from the front when your turn the wheel hard then you have a bad cv-axle. you would also ewant to take care of this a.s.a.p.

d) All of the above.
* Take it in now and get it replaced. The bearing can ... err, will fall apart and seize up locking the wheel up on you, which is a safety concern at this time.
Get it done.
