No, you aren't! average means they take all wages, including those who make millions, and add them, then divide them by how many people are earning them, 12,000 pounds is still a lot of money when you consider the average wage in Canada is lony about 18,000 dollars which is just over half the value of the pound. So, you make more than Most Canadians do.

No, you're just getting less than the National Average Wage. Which is artificially inflated because a minority earn a lot, while the majority don't. Add a couple of company directors on £500,000 a year to the rest of us and the average goes up.
Do you happen to work at my bank?

I know. i've been running my own business and now looking at going back to work for an employer the wages in my area for the last job i had in 1995 are actually lower! I was in export sales and paid £13,000 as a starting wage.. i couldn't get that now in the same area for the same job! how anyone can live on less is beyond me and why should tax payers be funding bad employers via tax credits.

extremely top. in spite of the indisputable fact that, the price is unlikely to be only £50. each and every individual isn't completely stupid. If Mr. Hardup is conscious that his previous banger is wisely worth £2K to Mr. Fatcat the haggling will start up round about the £1K mark and bypass up/down from there counting on the provision & call for challenge. the individuals who will quite earnings are the motor vehicle-breakers with yards finished of wrecks, many with modern tax discs. they only pick to move paper possession to the customer, then get the better business enterprise of doing away with the motor vehicle besides. Which fool concept this scheme up? P.S. be conscious to those who wisely talk about you ought to have owned your banger for a 365 days to the contact the £2K. there is an basic way round this. Mr. Hardup, or Messrs. Floggit & Leggit, scrap sellers, are the nominees, having owned the smash for a 365 days. Mr. Fatcat pays for the recent motor vehicle (and takes delivery) then "buys" it from the nominal proprietor, relinquishing the smash to be scrapped. anticipate some scams like this to augment.

depends on age, experience, etc.

if you are an apprentice or junior then pay is bad to start with.

remember that the £18k is an average across every job and that in london, for example, people are on a fair old whack, however that has to cover commuting and expensive rent to live up there, so they may not be any better off than you!!

look in the paper or online for the same job you do, and see what their pay is.

When they say AVERAGE you'll find 80% of people on or below that amount. The other 20% get paid faboulous wages 100,000 pound + and often more. Read the papers!!!

Average means there are many below that, and many above that. It depends on the type of work you do. You should find out the average for the type of work that you do.
