Your computers must be equipped with a Network Card,
aka Ethernet Card.
If you want to network the computers you will need a switch between the 2 computers. Your cables would connect the router to the switch and the switch connected to the Ethernet card port on each computer.
If you want to be able to use both computers independently of each other, you will need to connect your phone modem cable to the router and a CAT5 cable from a port on the router to a computer. Connect another CAT5 cable from another port on the router to the other computer Ethernet card port.

get an ethernet cable and plug 1 end 2 da router an da uther to ur computer's ethernet port

Buy a 8 port switch and you won't have to configure anything. Just plug in your computers and the modem and you are in. Assuming you are using a DSL or cable modem and it logs in for you.
