I stay at home with my children. I would love to do some freelance tattoo design for a tattoo company from my home and earn some income on used designs, but I haven't a clue as how to go about this. I love to draw, and I would love to learn how to tattoo, but my kids are just too young right now to leave home to go to school or intern. Any advise would be so helpful! Thanks!!!

i would suggest attending a tattoo school which isnt too many hours out of a day. Then when you get a job.. tattoo shops usually arent strict on hours anyways...

but i say do it.

Your talking about tattoo flash. You can actually start your own online company if you are really serious. It would take a ton of time to draw each Flash art piece but if your serious you can do it. You can advertise on rate my tattoo type websites and still be able to work at home. So get out your pencils and have at it.

As far as tattooing, you would need to find an artist and be their apprentice which would require most of your time and doesnt sound like you are willing to give up for your children.

Anything is possible if you put your heart into it. Good Luck!

I am in your same boat.... I am a SAHM and I graduated from Mass Art, but have done nothing with my degree other than sell a painting every few years.

I have drawn tattoos for friends and one for my dad and they came out great. The tattoo artist who did my dad's tattoo told me to draw up some flash and just basicly sell "door to door" at tattoo shops. And once you get your name out there to the local shops they will give you a call to when they want more work from you.

I am planning to draw up some designs in my free time (not that I have all that much with three kids) and see if anyone is interested in my work.

I think it's a great idea and will hopefully be a great way to make a little side money as well as keeping my hands in the world of art.

Blessings and luck to you!
