I've heard many "urban myths" about having multiple pregnacies (ie twins) like drinking milk ?!? and i can't afford fertility drugs. anyone know of any TRUE ways to help with multiple babies. My grandmother is a twin but my husband has no twins in his family. What are good ways to go about this?

Being a twin myself, supposededly twins skip generations. There is a chance you could have twins if Gramma was a twin. As far as aiding the egg production, I have heard that increasing your intake of folic acid helps egg production and fertlization. Whether that means that you will have multiple pregnancies is another story.

My mother, being an herbalist, took some herb that allowed for more than one egg to be produced, hence the fact that I my twin is a sister. Look on the internet for the prepartion. If mom were alive today I would ask for you.

The gene for twins usually skips a generation. So if your grandmother is a twin, that means the liklihood is that someone in your generation, not your kids, would be a twin. This is not always the case, but usually is. I am a twin by the way.

There's nothing you can do to affect whether or not you have twins. If you want to have multiple children, then just get pregnant multiple times. Anyway, I don't think you realize how difficult having twins is, it's much harder than you probably think. Good luck.

You just have to try and let it happen. A lot of people say that twins skip a generation, but it's not always the case.

My grandmother had twin siblings, my grandfather had twin siblings. Together they had twin girls. My mother (not one of the twins) had 3 (Yes I said 3!!!!!) sets of twins. And not one of them was on fertilitly drugs.

So far none of the kids in this generation of my family has been a twin. So far. We're by no means done...LOL

But there is no way to make twins happen. It just does.

Your chances would be better if your mother was a twin, but I would say that your grandmother being a twin increases your chances of having twins. Just do what come naturally, and if it happens it happens.

There is no way to increase your chances of having twins, unless you are using fertility drugs or go through IVF. Other than that, it's all up to the stars!
