How do you feel about the right to concealed carry?

I live in a state that does NOTallow it. I think the "bad guys" would think twice about attacking me if they knew I could be packing. I have been "stalked" before...very scary!

The only people that benefit from the current law (in my state) are the very people that will carry illegal weapons anyways. Why not be able to defend ourselves from them?

What is your point of view?

Don't you think that this country has to get rid of the attitude that "the government will take care of us"?

Ron....I'm also from Wisconsin

in every state that has passed some form of concealed carry, the FBI reports violent crime goes down.

Now look at England & Austrailia, since the governments there have disarmed all citizens, violent crime has more than increased 400%.

John Lott was right..."More guns, Less crime".

Hey fear not. Join the NRA or one of the other pro-second amendment groups that are out there. It's time to be proactive or find ourselves like the loyal subjects of the UK!

I think it is complete garbage that the government feels it has the right to take away your form of self-defense. If you have a legally registered weapon and you have complied with a background check and a safety course, there is NO legitimate reason to deny someone the right to carry a concealed weapon.

Ownership of guns is the only thing between us and complete control by criminals/government (often interchangable).

I live in a state where conceal and carry is allowed. I am trying to get qualified to do so. Though I have not been attacked while outside my home, I have been attacked within it. But with the gangs moving in I feel it would be a necessary evil to carry.

What's this obsession with guns. Maybe you should ask yourselves what happened to your country that so many people want to own a gun.

I'm from the Netherlands and the only groups allowed to carry a firearm is the police and the army. I feel safe because of that. I do not have to fear that my neighbor get's out of bed on the wrong foot and starts shooting up the place. We have almost no problems with kids shooting eachother at school. no snipers picking of people. My country knows it's share of crime but it's nothing compared to the crime rate in the US

In my opinion, not allowing citizens to carry a gun is a clear violation of the second amendment to the US Constitution.

However, carrying a weapon comes with the responsibility of using it correctly and safely. Owning a gun no more makes you armed than owning a piano makes you a musician.

I also live in a state where there is no concealed carry allowed. I think it is one of the stupidest things in the world. Because the criminals are going to carry them no matter whether they are legal or not....they are criminals. Luckily state congress is trying to get this changed though; we should be able to protect ourselves. :)

I agree. I have lately been seriously considering a concealed carry permit. I would not have to wait 5 days for a background check to purchase a handgun if I had one.

I live in California and a friend of mine has a concealed carry permit. I think that it should only be given to those who really would need it. I don't want every a$$hole being able to carry a weapon let alone a concealed one!

I can't quote him word for word, but a national leader made the statement, "We have disarmed the people and conficated their weapons. World leaders will look to us and follow our example. The job of the policeman will be easier, crime will disappear. The country will now be a much safer place." The leader ? Adolph Hitler.

I plan on getting my concealed weapons permit soon. My husband has his and I think it's great. We live on 20 acres and have a shooting range set up on the property. Practice your gun skills, so you and people around you can be safe.
