Nope! The mere fact that these countries have failed miserably proves that it cannot work! (Not while "man" is in charge!)

Communism is doomed and it was from the very outset. It is a bastardization of socialism, which although utopian in it's goal was none the less doomed from the start also. The reason that these systems fail is because they do not take into account human nature.
In the case of communism all of the power is concentrated in the hands of a few, while the masses are left to struggle on what meager amounts the government allows them.
In the case of socialism the power is designed to be distributed among all the people equally, which is also unworkable as there have to be leaders and followers for any society to function on a macro scale.
While all people are created equal we are not equal in our goals and desires. Some will work harder to achieve what they desire, while others prefer to languish on the fringe of society taking what handouts they can get. There is no competiton in these forms of government because it would be wholly useless as everyone will get the same thing no matter what, again this stands in defiance of human nature. It is natural for humans to want to achieve all they can in life. Another failure results from other facets of the human condition such as greed, avarice, and jealousy. You cannot remove these facets as they are ingrained, and will remain so.
The Soviet Union did not fall because of American military spending. Rather the Soviet empire collapsed under the weight of coca cola and levis jeans being introduced into their society. If you take an oppressed people and offer them tastes of freedom they will demand and desire more every time. Chinese communism will fall for the same reason soon.
As to the matter of Cuba. Cuba is a not a communist nation. Fidel Castro would have you believe that he believes in some great communist brotherhood, and may even have started out believing it himself. However, once he gained a taste of power he wanted more. For most of his history he has been nothing more than a despotic dictator, who kills or jails anyone who doesn't agree with him. Even his own daughter recognized this when she was forced to flee Cuba in fear of her life. I do not know what the future holds for Cuba, but it should be interesting to watch what changes occur when Fidel finally dies off.
If you believe in communism for real and truly embrace those ideas all I can say is Power To The People, but I must tell you that much like the dinosaurs, you are doomed to extinction.

No. Because these countries never reached communism.
Karl Marx never described communism in a way that any of these countries could be seen as communistic. Marx described a proces that has to go through several fases to eventually reach a state of communism. Each fase has to be followed or communism will never be the end result.
The countries you speak of forced their population to speed up the proces and skipped a few fases while doing so.
Capitalism is a crucial fase in the proces Marx described and these countries never reached that fase. Thats why the people of Russia rebelled in the end. The planned economies were a dead end and never stood a chance. Communism can only come to be when the entire population realy wants it. You can not force it on people.
There hasn't been a true communist state on this planet and it looks like it will take a long time before we see one....assuming the theorie Marx thought up actualy holds water.

Looking back at your prior questions and answers it seems clear that you have little understanding of Communism and its origins.
In a short form, Communism can be represented by two statements:
One is the elimination of all private property.
Two is a promoted class struggle between the proletariats and the Bourgeoisie.
Both of these foundation planks are also major elements in the failure of Communism. Individual ownership of private property is fundamental to support individual freedoms and to act as the incentive for individual creativity.
The class struggle ends up destroying the middle class which is the foundation of any society’s ability to expand and better the standard of living for the individual.
Marx and Engels Primarily based their ideas on the work of the laborer and the disregarding of the importance of incentive that results in creativity and the importance of money as an investment tool. They saw society not as an evolving concept resulting in greater individual freedoms, but as a unending struggle between the haves and the have nots. Their only solution was to bring everything to the lowest common denominator.
Each version of this that has been attempted, has failed.
Communism is valid only for those who seek a government run society with little recognition of individual freedom. Individual freedom requires the ownership of private property with that right protected by the government. Such ownership doesn’t exist within Communism and therefore neither does individual freedom.

Yes! Because they were actually a Socialist Goverment. How can anyone think that those goverments were good? They killed millions, Locked them up, deprived them of basic human needs etc.. All for just thinking differently.
Communist: Communism is a political ideology that seeks to establish a future classless, stateless social organization based upon common ownership of the means of production.
Socialists:refers to a broad array of doctrines or political movements that envisage a socio-economic system in which property and the distribution of wealth are subject to social control. [1] As an economic system, socialism is usually associated with state or collective ownership of the means of production. This control, according to socialists, may be either direct, exercised through popular collectives such as workers' councils, or it may be indirect, exercised on behalf of the people by the state.

What is your point!
Russia went the way of the western world and now there is so much corruption, bribes and payoffs ,perhaps Communism is looking good to them, or at least socialism!
Cuba made us look bad when we supported Castro. Who knew what it would be under a dictator like the one who was there before if he remained! Can't do much worse than our boy Castro!
China, I don't see a lot of poverty, crime, or hunger in a country that has over a billion people. They have slackened up up quite a bit on freedoms.
What I do know is that none of those countries would do well run by corporations!!!! I think we have proven that!

No. Communism has made the U.S.S.R, China, and Cuba look bad. You got it in reverse. Communism is a miserable failure, not the people that live in those countries.

The 80s became a particular time in history at the same time as the west became coming up in all aspects! leisure became huge with music video clips growing to be so time-honored and video games high quality of existence! videos and the media etc. the full international watched besides the undeniable fact that the soviet authorities oppressed all of it and the individuals rose hostile to that because they needed some too!
