The ability to rip/backup DVD videos that you own. If you don't know how to do this STOP here. Leave the forum and head on over to www.burnworld.com where you'll find DVD ripping software and forums on how to use them
1 Computer
1 USB cable [USB A to USB mini B] - systems loaded with WinMe, Win2000, Win2003, WinXP, WinXP Pro or Windows Media Center Edition
1 Memory Stick / Media Card reader/writer - systems loaded with Win98 or Win98SE or the driver listed in step 10a
1 Sony PSP
1 Sony Memory Stick Duo, Duo Pro?
Any of the following file/media formats .JPEG[photo], MPEG-4[video], MP3 or ATRAC[music]
00.] read the following carefully and thoroughly
01.] insert the 32MB memory stick
02.] close the lid/cap
03.] power up the PSP
04.] assuming you've already did the initial PSP setup - i.e date, time etc. access SYSTEM SETTINGS and then press X
05.] locate FORMAT MEMORY STICK and then press X
06.] Do you want to fomat the Memory Stick ? Highlight YES and press X
07.] All data on the Memory Stick will be deleted. Are you sure you want to continue? Highligh YES and press X
08.] Format complete press O to go back to the menu
08a.] If you're running Win98 or Win 98SE proceed to step 10a
09.] Press LEFT on the D-Pad to access the main menu and scroll UP to access USB Connection
10.] Attach the necessary USB cable [you will have to purchase one if you don't already one from a digital camera] then press X
providing you have either WinMe, Win2000, Win2003, WinXP, WinXP Pro or Windows Media Center Edition. Your computer
PC should recognize the PSP as either a Mass Storage Device or Removable Disk and the window should pop up.
10a.] If you're running Win98 or Win98SE you will need to download a USB driver from the following link. This link was discovered by message board member: jackson3 www.vivitar.com/CustService/download/v3615/3615.zip Every Win98 user who has downloaded this driver confirms that it works. Again, thanx go to jackson3. You can now proceed to follow steps 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16
11.] If the memory stick was formatted correctly in the window you should see the following. A folder labeled PSP and file named MEMSTICK.IND
12.] Double click folder PSP. You will find 4 sub folders: GAME, PHOTO, MUSIC and SAVEDATA.
13.] All you have to do is drag and drop the appropriate files to each specific folder. MP3 or ATRAC [MUSIC], .JPEG [PHOTO]. Adding video? scroll down to step 11a
14.] To see the files you've just added press O to close the window
15.] Access the file/format menu by pressing RIGHT on the D-PAD and scroll to the appropriate icon [Photo],[Music] or [Video] and press X
16.] All files loaded in the previous steps should be accessible at this time

11a.] Create a folder labled/named MP_ROOT This folder should be located/placed WITH the folder and file in step 11 NOT in folder labeled PSP
11b.] Open your MP_ROOT folder and then create another folder labeled 100MNV01 - this will be the folder where you actually keep the MPEG-4 video clips.
11c.] You can now follow steps 13 through 16

Please make sure you have a go0d 5 pin USB A to USB mini B cable. There have been quite a few posts in regards to getting eRRors or corrupt data/files due to incorrect and or cheap USB cables.

Copy some MP3 into your Memory Stick, and put it inside the PSP.

you want a memory card. you may desire to purchase one at any video game shop. then you definately can the two placed your card into the computing gadget and drag and drop or use the cord that is going into the psp and drag and drop.
