I mean coexistance between the native indians and the new immigrants coming to the New World (America)? Doesn't this indicate very great wildness and bloodiness? Is America's diplomacy up till today so violent because of this violent and bloody beginning of a nation?

Answers from Americans only, please..

I don't know why have you answered my question by insulting me. I think it is not kind of you to make fun of me and to preassume that because I am called Mohamed then I must be a terrorist or a cave-man. I will not report your answer because I do not have the right to ban you from expressing your opinion. But I only have the right to ask you to be more civilized and thoughtful.

It was done in the name of manifest destiny and westward expansion by the Europeans who settled here. The Indians had the land and they wanted it. A lot of the Indians were killed by disease because they had never been exposed. Some were given blankets infected with small pox. Others were simply killed because the Europeans had guns and the Indians didn't. There was no means of co-existence because the Europeans wanted the land and the Indians didn't want to give it up. Look at England, France, and Germany for other examples of this.

First of all, there is still a large Native Americans living in the US. Many of them are not even recognizeable as such because of the mixing of so many different races. Secondly, so many Native Americans were killed because of misunderstanding and miscommunication and fear of the unknown on both parts. It is really a very tragic part of American History. When the new immigrants came to the United States it was very wild. It was a wilderness. They did not operate under the same code as we do today. It is really a stretch to connect what happened then to what is happening now.

Displacement of natives of any country has been happening since the beginning of time. Who was there before the Native Americans? Anytime you have two cultures that have completely different views on life there will be conflict. Muslims want to convert or eliminate anyone that will not convert to Islam. Are they any better than the Yanks were back then? Regardless of your view point on such, Might make Right. The strong will win and enforce their way of life on the weak.

Tuffy. In one particular incident, the leader of the troops wanted to make peace with this one tribe. The Chief of that tribe acted like,"Ok, come, and let's talk alone." The leader of that briggade was ambushed, and killed by that Tribe.
It's all like this. Remember how when you were a child everything began,"In The Beginning?"
Now, as grown men, everything must begin,"Come, let's forgive everything, and live peacefully."
Remember when the Eastern Block was formed? Not a ROCK was thrown over the negotiations, because Stallin got the US President DRUNK at Malta, and he was AGREEABLE to MOST of what Stallin proposed.
I think everybody that has a grudge just needs some laughing gas a the dentists office!!

Then reasons that the new immigrants couldn't coexist with native americans is because the new immigrants were assholes who couldn't look at life any other ways than total dominance of culture and religion. You have to remember that eastern settelers were sent here to give England more land and trading power and that many of the French traders did somewhat get along with the natives. Also, the common person was told that nartive americans were dirty, cheating, lieing, thieving, murderers and would rather shoot them than talk to them.

I agree that the westward expansion of America had unnecessarily (sp?) violent applications. In a sense though all the Americans did to the natives was what the natives were trying to do to each other. Not justifying what happened because I believe it was wrong. But when you look far enough back at any country's history your going to find that power struggle that gave birth to each nation. Again, not justified, but certainly not unique.

Let's see--

Some died from disease (actually alot did)
Some died from military action upon them
Some died from fighting against the government-- they lost.

Initially,, I think there WAS coexistance. But when many more immigrants came over, land started getting claimed by countries and people. Indians (some/many) didn't think they actually owned the land.

Funny how the person above says Yanks-- the early Yanks were Brits, French, Germans, Spanish.

I am deeply ashamed of a lot of things done in the past by Americans as well as things currently being done by Americans. It was so hard for me to site through history classes in school. Made me want to move to another country. I believe co-existance was possible, and is still possible. Native Americans in this country were treated so badly.

First of all, say the "americas', because it didnt just happen in the US portion of the Americas. It happened from the top of Canada all the way to the bottom of S. America. Europeans took it all, period.

The Europeans didnt want coexistance, they wanted it all. And they took it. Europeans took the Philippines. Europeans took Australia and New Zealand. Europeans tried to take Africa and Asia. Europeans tried to take China. Now look whose trying to take the world? Guess? Islamists.
