If you look at communism where it has been tried, it is almost always an unmitigated disaster. Think of the Millions of people that Stalin, Pol-Pot, North korea and China have killed over teh last 100 years as a direct result of consolidating too much power in the hands of a few politicians. Do you really think you can trust american politicians with that kinda power? That american politicians wouldn't abuse the power in the same way?

McCarthyism has left a lasing mark. Capitialism and so called Democracy now Republicanism now rules! It does not take much to influence a society of Christian fanatics to believe some other system besides their own is acceptable and in many instances better. Tangle a dollar before the eyes of many in a material yet spiritual world like the US and you have a monster!

Because many people hardly understand what Communism is. They associate with it the U.S.S.R., China and Cuba. It actually isn't a bad idea although I would rather be in an environment were people can reap their rewards instead of having it all go to the lazy people.

I think even in communism you have the haves and have nots.
It just that the have nots get equal shares that's left from giving the haves what they want. Similar to here really except that we have people that have no shares at all.
