Will they ever comeback and contend for the title again?

Personally I think if they couldn't do it with Wallace last season, they're not going to do it with out him.

Yes, because last season they also had no injuries and still coudn't do it. And all of the players on the pistons were nobodies when they were on other teams, so they just lucked out by being in the right place at the right time. joe dumbass is overhyped as he made more bad moves than good ones, including drafting darko over wade. The good moves only worked because the pistons' opponents in the playoffs were always injured, except when they got beat by san antonio and miami, of course. Maybe if they had wade instead of tayshaun princess, they would be contending.

NBA history tells us that you need a great big man (or Jordan) to win a championship. The last winning teams had who... Duncan, Shaq, Wallace, Robinson, etc...

Nobody on the Piston's roster is anywhere near Jordan, so I'm thinking that it'll be some time before they seriously contend for a title.

I think it opened up the east for the Nets not resigning Ben Wallace. Agreed if they couldn't do it with him, it should make no difference now. Coach Flip will be fired in a year or 2 just like when he coached the Timberwolves to the conference finals one year and had a total meltdown the very next season.

I think they'll be fine. Maybe not rack up 64 wins like last year, but they don't fall that far off from Ben with Nazr Mohammed and Flip Murray. The problem was Flip Saunders didn't utilize his bench the way he should have and the starters wore down by the playoffs. Murray and Mohammed make them deeper and more versatile. They should go deep into the playoffs again next year

personaly iv'e been routing for the pistons the past coup,e years, even though im a celtics fan. But i think with wallace gone they'll still finish either 1,2,3 but thier defencs is going to be a problem

r u kidding? i think that they will be better next year because they have aquirred filp murray, ronald dupree, and nazi mohammad, and lost only ben wallace. ben wallace was only good for defense, but the pistons have made the transition to the fast tempo NBA, now they can score more and rasheed and tayshawn will step up and defend the paint better. they will outscore their opponents rather than trying to stop them, because they couldnt stop the miami heat

The Pistons I have to say aren't done but lossing Big Ben is very critical in their situation. I don't think their gonna make it very far though.

they dont really have much of a chance Now..if they can find a new center who has an all-around game..good offense and defense...then maybe..just maybe they can win

with the Dwayne Wade and the Heat though..it'll be hard for the Pistons to win
