rap is a form of music- hip hop is a culture. Hip hop consists of 4 elements- The MC (rapper), the DJ, the Graffiti Artist, and the B-Boy (breakdancer). rap is just one part of hip hop

When I think about rap, its the lyrics that tell a story. With hip-hop its more party music...lol...you really dont need a story.

As far as I can tell hip-hop is upbeat and you may actually want to consider the words. On the other hand rap seems to be harsh and rythemic and I could care less about the lyrics. Best wishes

Hip hop can intertwine rapping and singing. Rapping is just that, no singing on the song.

Rap is more about the beat and lyrics about material things and hip hop is more about lyrics that are more realistic.

rap is more throwing out words and hip hop is just like singing with a different backround and beat.at least that is what i think.
