I live in Chicago. Its really nice. Its not that expensive as Calif. It depends where you live. Northwest suburbs there are some places its not that expensive. I have lived in California too. So I would say Chicago is better. But Chicago's winters are very harsh. But then again thats me.

i have lived in both places and now am in indiana. the cost of living and gas is pretty similar. i like san diego more, however chicago is more compact and a smaller area with more to do. however, unlike san diego, a cheap place to live in chicago is not in a nice neighborhood. the cheapest studio i could ever find in a decent neighborhood was $1100. also, gas is almost $4.00 a gallon here.

Well its a place where dreams come and go like the tide. Its a place where u can get lost in the culture and in the business ethic. Its a city that has almost everything u need to be happy in. Its what u make of it and i guarantee that u will definitely meet very interesting people there, but i couldn't stay there forever it was kind of suffocating me after awhile. But that's just me, Ive just moved to San Dog and the city of Chicago is more upbeat and sophisticated and overall more interesting than this. But i can almost say u might need a break after awhile. But for the most part its one of the best cities in America.

I love chicago. It's true, there's always something to do. Chicago always holds events like the Taste of Chicago or the Lollapolooza. It is expensive depending where you live. Some of the parts in Chicago I honestly hate and would love to tear it down because it is a disgrace to Chicago, but all the nice and good parts of chicago makes up for it. You dont have to live in chicago to enjoy it though, you can live in the suburbs near chicago. Chicago was named the most politest city.

I do not like it here, but I am from a small town. I find it to be dangerous, dirty, and think the people are rude. If you like big cities, have a lot of money, or are young, then you might like it a lot. There is always something to do, but only 2% is free. The cost of living here is about 700 for a studio apartment downtown, to 700 or more for a one-bedroom a little bit away from downtown. The train and buses go everywhere, but if you want to drive, forget it! Gas is 3.26 a gallon, and parking is 15-20 bucks a day. I am sure someone has something nice to say about it though....

I don't live there, but have been there many times. Chicago is a wonderful city. The many neighborhoods are interesting, and there is always something to do. Right now the gas is around $3.15, but who knows what tomorrow will bring. The dining is excellent, the museums are great, there are two baseball teams, two basketball teams, a hockey team, arena football, soccer, it's just a real neat place.

I think Chicago is a beautiful world class city. We have a great downtown area with great architecture. The lakefront is also great to visit in the summertime. Chicago is also a neighborhood kind of city. We have all kinds of great neighborhoods, some ethnic, with great choices for restaurants. There's something for everyone here. All year round there are great festivals ,especially during the summertime.

in every big city, it seems, you will always have uptight snobby people, that's what you get in chicago. theres some cool stuff but trust me friend, the gas prices are A W F U L
we're lookin at like 340 a gallon in chicago, 320 in the suburbs.

why do you need to live in a city of millions? How about Champaign, Springfield or Bloomington/Normal, IL I have lived in all. I now live 45 mi from St. Louis and love it. close enough to have the city conveniences without the headaches. Indy is nice too.
