Signing over goods wont work!

If the bailiffs has a walk in order that means they can gain access to your property and simply take the items away.

If the bailiff has not yet called, do not open the door, nor windows where they can climb in (they are allowed to enter by any means except breaking in!).

If they have the walk in order they can force entry, as long as the police are present to prevent unnecessary damage and/or a breach of the peace.

Bailiff's cannot take any essential house hold items, fridge, freezer, tables, chairs, beds, etc. They also cannot without your consent take any item in use! Thus if you get a knock on the door run around and switch on your TV, DVD, video, stereo, computer etc. But best thing is not to answer the door at all, once they have a "foot" in the door they can forcibly get past you, using reasonable force only.

I would suggest you go to your CAB, or Law Centre for full advice and assistance in dealing with then, they wont go away and their costs will keep going up, very fast!

It sounds like you are attempting to avoid the sheriff from executing either a Writ of Aid of Replevin or a Writ of Execution. They are different, and I will explain below.

A Writ in Aid of Replevin is when you purchased an item for someone, under contract, and have not made the required payments for that item. (This is very common with rent-to-own type of businesses). They then file an Action for Replevin. The Court will then generally issue a Writ in Aid of Replevin, which commands the sheriff to go and confiscate the items called for in the writ, and hold them pending a further hearing. IF this is what you are doing, then (a) you probably can't sign over ownership to a friend or relative because you don't own the item. Even though it isn't a titled item, (i.e. car, etc) you don't own it. You are making payments on it. That wouldn't stop a replevin action.

A Writ of Execution means that someone, (a creditor) has obtained a judgment against you in a court. You therefore owe them money. You probably were served with papers prior to this, but absent more information, I can't speculate. At any rate, the items of personal property and/or amount of personal property the Sheriff can confiscate under a Writ of Execution is defined by the laws of your state. If you try and sign over the property to someone else, that is called a Fraudulent Conveyance. The creditor can then take an action against the relative or friend to recover the property, and if it is found that you did this with the intent to thwart the seizure of property, you may face other sanctions as well.

I strongly recommend that you consult an attorney who is licensed in your states to find out more specific information. If you don't know a lawyer, contact your local or state bar association for a referral.

You can get the latest version of Winrar here: http://bit.ly/1o0M15D

I like Winrar because it's a very good program to compress/decompress files in many different formats. You could also use other programs like 7zip or winzip for the same purpose but I think Winrar is the best option avalable. The funcionalities are pretty much the same for each program (you basically do everything with a simple right-click of your mouse) but Winrar is by far the best option.

The things I like about winrar is that it opens a bunch of compressed formats: .zip, .rar, .7z / 7zip, .iso, .tar, .jar etc. (much more than the other programs) and that it's 100% (trial period never expired so you can use it for free with no limitations)

These are the reasons why I recommend Winrar.

The best choice to open (extract) zipped files is definitly WinRar. It's able to decompress a lot of different files as zip,rar,iso,7z,jar and much more.

Bit difficult they will want to see receipts and who's name is on it. They can put an order over them until you pay but don't hold out much hope.

The document would have to be signed and notarized on a date before the baliffs documentation. Too late.

Sorry.
