Technically no. But if you have a relationship, continue it.

A marriage ends at death.

Since your brother died his wife is no longer your sister-in-law. During their wedding ceremony they told each other that they would love and honor each other "til death do us part". If you choose to you can still be like family to her. She might like the connection of having you as family. Also, if you are thinking of more intimate situations with her, there is an advantage of going out with her. She already has your last name! People that don't know the history will assume she is your wife because you both have the same last name. Good Luck

Yes, if you look at the eytmology of the word sister-in-law you'd find your answer. For she is your sister according to the law through marriage instead of birth. So technically she still is your sister. Your brother and his wife were llegally binded.

Sorry about your brother. And, yes, she needs family around her to help her deal. So, be a good sister in law and spend time with her like you would your own sister.

Yes if you have a sister in law relationship. I would feel bad for her and support her in every way until she heals emotionally and find a new love

I agree, if she remarries, then she kinda distances herself from being your "sister-in-law" unless you were super close, but, even if she doesn't remarry it can still be a little awkward. In a sense, the children, if any, will act as a link for the two families. sorry for the loss.

This is question only you can answer do you wish to honor your brother by keeping her in the family or do you hate the women and are now glad you can be done with her. What dose your heart tell you cause that is all that matters.

Absolutly! It is all about what is in your heart. If she is your sister then she is your sister and she probably needs you now more than ever. Some one that she can relate to, talk to, someone that knows her brother almost as well as she did. I am sorry for your loss.

If you got along with her and wish to continue a relationship, it wouldn't be a bad idea to include her as part of your family. I am sure she would like it, because if you didn't she would feel SO HURT.
If that is not the case, go on with life and don't look back. I am sure she will too.

yes she is until she remarries.sometimes people hold on to titles of in-laws because of their closness to each other: even if she remarries , the relationship (if positive) between the two of you will last a lifetime. SHE WILL ALWAYS BE YOUR SISTER-LAW!

As long as SHE considers you still like a brother to her, then YES! His death doesn't change that, unless she remarries and prefers that you leave her alone. If they had kids, you will always and forever be their uncle.
