I am 23 years old, my husband and I have been together for 5 years and we plan to start trying for a baby next year.

I told my husband that I didn’t want to wait much longer to start a family, he said he was ready too. For the past 6 months my desire to have a family with him is getting worse.

I feel ready. I have a college education, a house that will be paid off next year, and I have a stable job that I really love.

I don’t feel like I have missed out on anything! I have done everything I wanted from traveling all over, to skydiving to college! I feel almost complete except I don’t have a family yet.

I have lived on my own since I was 18, I never did drugs, partied, slept around, or drank. I guess I have always been very stable even growing up. Happiness to me is staying home with my husband and dog. :)

Why do people say I just want a baby so I have something to love me? I am not 16, I will be 25 when I have the baby.

I don’t understand it!

Some people just don't get what you're feeling. Others may just be jealous.
Your life is stable, and if this is what you and your husband want, good luck to you!
Nevermind what others say.

Dont listen to what everyone says. The only opinions that matter are yours and your husbands. Because it will be you and him raising the baby. I think who ever is saying this to you is jealous. Not every one can say they are happily married, have a college education and own their house. Esp at 23. I hope everything works out for you.

They must be watching too much Dr. Phil. On the other hand, if a lot of unrelated people are saying it maybe you should ask why they think that about you. Do they see some insecurites within your personalilty? If this advice is coming from people who know and love you try to get some feedback as to why they are saying it.

Sounds like you need new friends. Sounds like you're in a wonderful place in your life to have kids. I'm 22, have been married for 1 year, and everyone I know really supports my husband and I's decision to start trying. Best wishes and get started trying!

wow it sounds like you have your head on tight ...i think you would make an excellent mother and you should try to ignore these people for saying this to you...maybe they are a little jealous because you seem to have every thing going good for you...good marriage, education, stability in life is hard to come by so maybe they want a little of what you have...i say to heck with them you...but maybe if you let them know it really bothers you and hurts your feelings then they will ease up on you I'm sure they probably don't even know you r being hurt by them!!!GOOD LUCK!!!!

For one thing you are a grown, mature woman, and the advice you have received isn't necessary. The only person who needs their input would be your husband. Keep trying for your baby, pray, play.... and good luck to you. You sound like an amazing couple.

Who knows! That's terrible! Why do people feel the need to put people down or "voice" their horrible opinions.

Let it roll off your back and do what you want. Screw 'em.
